About New Jeevan Care Centre
A rehabilitation and de-addiction centre in Maduravoyal, Chennai — built on dignity, honesty about what treatment can do, and support that continues after discharge.
A place families can check before they trust it
Searching for a rehabilitation centre is a strange kind of shopping. You are comparing places you have never been, for a problem you do not want to admit is happening, usually in a hurry, and usually alone. Half the websites read the same. Several of them quote a figure only after you have driven across the city.
So families end up choosing on a phone call and a feeling. That is not their fault. It is what the sector has trained them to expect.
We would rather be inspected. Walk in. Look at where people sleep and where they eat. Ask which qualifications the counselling team holds. Ask how many staff are on duty at 2am. Ask for the figure in writing. Any centre that hesitates at those four questions is telling you something important.
What we hold to
The person is not the addiction
Nobody here is spoken to as a failure. Shame is not a treatment method — it is one of the reasons families hide this for years before anyone asks for help.
No promise we cannot keep
No cure in fifteen days, no guarantee against relapse, no offer to collect someone against their will. What we offer is a real programme and support that continues after discharge.
The household is treated too
Wives, parents, siblings and children get their own sessions. A recovery the family does not understand rarely survives the first difficult month at home.
Confidential without exception
Enquiries and treatment records stay inside the clinical team. Nothing reaches employers, neighbours or relatives you have not authorised.
Discharge is not the finish line
Six months of follow-up is part of the programme, not an extra sold separately. That is the window where relapse risk is highest.
Inspect us
Turn up and look around before you commit to anything. A place that only shows you a reception desk is hiding the rest of the building for a reason.
The limits, stated plainly
Here is what a good programme genuinely delivers. A withdrawal that does not put someone in danger. A few weeks of clear thinking, probably the first in years. A household that finally understands what it is dealing with. And a written plan that turns sobriety into a set of decisions already made, instead of a fight to be won again every evening.
Here is what it does not deliver. Certainty. The risk of relapse is reduced, never erased, and no programme succeeds on a person who has not somewhere along the way chosen it for himself. There is no discharge date after which this is finished.
If a centre describes it any other way, ask them to put that in writing. You will find they would rather not.
Turn up and look around
No appointment is needed to ask questions, though a call first means a counsellor is free rather than in a session.
